1. Acceptance of these Terms

By accessing or using imglab.app, you agree to these Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the site. If you use imglab on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to accept these Terms for that organization.

Additional terms may be presented for an account, paid feature, API, batch workflow, or other service with requirements not covered by these general Terms.

2. The imglab service

imglab is a collection of focused online tools for resizing, compressing, cropping, converting, enhancing, and editing images. Each tool provides controls and output options for a specific image task.

Standard tools may process selected images locally in your browser. Local processing depends on the capabilities and available memory of your device and browser. imglab does not guarantee that every file, dimension, format, color profile, metadata type, or device will be supported.

3. Eligibility and appropriate use

You must be legally able to agree to these Terms. If you are using the service for another person or organization, you must have permission to do so. Children may use the site only with appropriate parent or guardian involvement where required by law. imglab is not intended to collect personal information from children under 13.

4. Your images and other content

You retain the rights you already have in images and other content you use with imglab. You are responsible for ensuring that you own the content or have all permissions needed to process, modify, download, and otherwise use it.

For a standard local-processing tool, imglab does not need a license to store the selected image on its servers because the image is not uploaded through that workflow. When an AI or cloud tool requires an upload, you grant imglab and its applicable processors a limited, non-exclusive license to host, copy, transmit, and process that content only as reasonably needed to provide, secure, troubleshoot, and comply with law for that feature. The relevant tool will disclose the upload before processing.

5. Prohibited conduct

You may not use imglab to violate law or another person’s rights; process content you are not authorized to use; create or distribute unlawful, abusive, exploitative, deceptive, or harmful material; introduce malware; interfere with the service; bypass technical limits; scrape or overload the site in a manner that disrupts others; probe for vulnerabilities without written permission; impersonate another person; or misrepresent imglab output as verified professional advice.

You may not use automated access in a way that is inconsistent with published instructions or that places unreasonable demand on the site. A public browser tool does not grant access to a private API.

6. Output and quality

You are responsible for reviewing every processed image before relying on or publishing it. Resizing and lossy encoding can change sharpness, color, transparency, metadata, dimensions, or file size. A preview is a convenience and may render differently from the downloaded file or another application.

imglab does not guarantee a particular compression ratio, visual quality, print accuracy, color match, accessibility result, platform acceptance, or compliance with a third party’s image specification. Social networks, marketplaces, passport authorities, and other services may change their requirements. Verify current requirements with the receiving service.

7. Privacy and file handling

The Privacy Policy explains how standard local tools, optional analytics, support communications, and AI uploads are handled. Do not upload or send content containing sensitive personal information unless the feature requires it, the privacy notice is acceptable to you, and you have authority to use that content.

AI uploads are deleted typically within 24 hours under standard operation, subject to security, abuse-prevention, legal, support, and tool-specific exceptions. A tool-specific notice may provide additional provider or retention details.

8. Third-party services and links

imglab may rely on or link to hosting, analytics, email, browser, operating-system, or image-processing services provided by third parties. Their services may be governed by separate terms and privacy policies. imglab does not control third-party websites and is not responsible for their content, availability, security, or practices.

9. Intellectual property

The imglab name, website design, original text, software, and related materials are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Except for the limited right to use the site under these Terms, no ownership rights are transferred to you.

You may not copy, sell, sublicense, or distribute substantial parts of the service, remove ownership notices, or use imglab branding in a way that suggests endorsement or affiliation without permission. These restrictions do not limit rights granted by an applicable open-source license for a separately identified dependency.

10. Feedback

If you send ideas or feedback, you grant imglab permission to use that feedback without restriction or compensation, provided that this does not transfer ownership of your image content or confidential information. Do not submit feedback that you are not authorized to share.

11. Availability and changes

imglab may add, change, suspend, or remove features; limit abusive traffic; perform maintenance; or correct errors. There is no guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted or that a browser update will not affect a local workflow.

Where practical, material changes affecting user content or paid access will be communicated through the site or another appropriate channel. Paid features may also be governed by purchase-specific terms presented at checkout.

12. Suspension and termination

imglab may restrict access when reasonably necessary to address prohibited conduct, security risks, legal obligations, or material harm to the service or others. You may stop using the service at any time. Provisions that by their nature should survive—such as ownership, disclaimers, limitations, and dispute terms—continue after use ends.

13. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, imglab is provided “as is” and “as available.” imglab disclaims implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, and error-free operation. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

imglab is a general image utility, not a legal, medical, financial, safety, identity-verification, archival, or professional-printing service. Output should not be treated as certification that an image satisfies a consequential requirement.

14. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, imglab and its operators, contributors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages; loss of data, revenue, profit, goodwill, or opportunity; failure of a receiving platform to accept an image; or damage arising from a user’s device, browser, extension, network, or handling of downloaded files.

Where liability cannot be excluded, the total liability arising from the affected service will be limited to the greater of the amount you paid imglab for that service during the previous twelve months or USD 100. This limitation does not apply where prohibited by law or to liability that cannot legally be limited.

15. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend and indemnify imglab and its operators against third-party claims, losses, and reasonable costs arising from your content, your unlawful or unauthorized use of the service, or your material violation of these Terms. This obligation does not apply to the extent a claim was caused by imglab’s own unlawful conduct.

16. Disputes and applicable law

The operator’s legal entity and governing jurisdiction have not yet been confirmed, so this draft does not designate a governing law, court, arbitration forum, or waiver of class proceedings. Those terms must be completed through legal review before this policy is treated as final. Mandatory consumer protections in your place of residence may apply regardless of any choice-of-law clause.

17. Changes to these Terms

These Terms may be updated to reflect product, legal, or operational changes. The updated version will show a revised date. If a change materially affects an existing paid or account-based service, an additional notice may be provided where required. Continuing to use the site after an update takes effect means you accept the revised Terms to the extent permitted by law.

18. General terms

If a provision is unenforceable, it will be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary while the remaining provisions continue. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without permission, while imglab may assign them as part of a reorganization or transfer of the service, subject to applicable law. Headings are for convenience and do not control interpretation.
